The Gopher Midget Racing Series is charging into 2026 with major momentum. Growing car counts. Expanded venues. Strong payouts. And the same competitive, driver-focused atmosphere that has fueled our rise in the Upper Midwest.

Whether you're a driver, fan, or sponsor, 2026 is shaping up to be our most exciting season yet — and we’re just getting started.

The Gopher Midget Racing Series will continue under the Open Motor Rule for 2026.

Our mission is simple:

• Lower barriers to entry
   
• Keep competition strong
   
• Support long-term growth of midget racing in our region
   

If it passes Chili Bowl rules, it passes ours.

We want racers to be able to unload, compete, and race — without unnecessary restrictions. Our focus is competitive, fair, sustainable racing that allows teams flexibility while keeping the playing field strong.

The 2026 season will once again feature the highly popular Storm Series at Thunder Hill Speedway, which continues to serve as a cornerstone of our series.

Nightly payouts will range from:

💰 $500 – $1,000 to win
(depending on event and sponsor support)

Final payouts will be announced once sponsor support is finalized.

We are excited to expand into additional premier facilities:

• Huset’s Speedway
   
• Worthington Speedway
   
• Fairmont Raceway
   
• Mississippi Thunder Speedway (Lightning Speedway)
   

Mississippi Thunder dates are still being finalized, along with one additional TBA date currently in progress.

The full 2026 schedule, including confirmed dates and payouts, will be released soon.

We are extremely excited about the direction this series is heading.

We are proud to continue our partnership with MBTV Sports, bringing live coverage of every Gopher Midget Racing Series event in 2026 — with the exception of September 5th at Huset’s Speedway (World of Outlaws event, broadcast on DirtVision).
